Located on the northwest coast of Corsica,
L’Île-Rousse was originally founded in the 18th
century and named for the distinctive red rocks
that color the shore. A charming main square
and 120-year-old date palms are in the main
town. Or, head to the lighthouse for views above
the village.

The commercial center of northern Portugal and
hub of the port wine trade, Porto is a gracious,
cosmopolitan city noted for its 12th-century
cathedral and medieval churches, picturesque
