Uganda's Coffee Exports Uas the country recorded
milestone in August 2023,
its highest-ever coffee export figures.
Surge to Record High According to the Uganda Coffee De-
velopment Authority (UCDA) monthly
report, this monumental achievement
in August 2023 translated into earnings of approxi-
mately US$121.64 million, equivalent to
Shs455.37 billion. The exported coffee
comprised 689,261 bags of Robusta,
valued at US$111.41 million, and 54,256
bags of Arabica, valued at US$10.22
million.
This remarkable year-on-year growth Uganda Shecranes,
witnessed a surge of 48.19% in quantity thank you for making
and 70.73% in value compared to the #Uganda shine at the
same month in the previous year. The #NWC2023
average price per kilo of Robusta coffee
increased to US$2.70, while the average
price of Arabica coffee reached US$3.11
per kilo. Breaking down the data fur-
ther, Robusta exports in August 2023
surged by 50.95% in quantity and 84.76%
in value when compared to August
2022. In contrast, Arabica exports in-
creased by 20.33% in quantity but ex-
perienced a slight dip of 2.59% in value
during the same period.
These exceptional export results were
attributed to various factors, includ-
ing a bountiful crop harvest in the
south-western region and favourable
