Pre-Match The city centre, a UNESCO

world heritage site

In 2021, Nice’s city centre was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites,
and given the title Ville de la villégiature d’hiver de Riviera (‘Winter Resort Town of
the Riviera’). This title is a sign of the universal gratitude for Nice’s heritage in terms
of architecture, landscaping and town planning, a unique fusion of European and
Mediterranean cultural and historical influences.

‘Nissarde’ : a menu bursting

with flavour

Savour Nice’s authentic cuisine, now firmly a part of the non-material
national heritage due to its regional authenticity. To discover the original
flavours, you have to go to one of the restaurants with the label Cuisine
Nissarde. Every year, this precious label is awarded to restaurants, snack-
bars and takeaways to reward them for their quality and respect for the
traditional recipes : pan bagnat, raviolis à la daube, salade niçoise, tourte
de blettes, pissala- dière, merda di can, gnocchi and barbajuans…
